Pasta with green onions
When our family returns from traveling, this is our go to meal. We stop at the grocery for green onions and milk. The rest is in the pantry or freezer. I always keep grated Parmesan cheese in our freezer.
Recipe serves | Active time | Total time |
---|---|---|
Special equipment needed |
---|
Large pasta pot |
Ingredients |
---|
1 bunch of green onions, chopped |
16 ounces of pasta |
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil |
Parmesan cheese, for garnish |
salt, pepper to taste |
Instructions |
---|
• Cook the pasta according to the package directions. |
• When the pasta is al dente, drain the pasta and return it to the pot. |
• Add the olive oil and stir well to prevent the pasta from sticking together. |
• Add the green onions and stir to combine. Season to taste. |
• Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired. |
Variations |
---|
• Add chopped garlic with the green onions. |
• Add one can of tuna. In this case, I would use cheddar cheese instead of Parmesan, and I would stir the cheese into the dish instead of using it as a garnish. |
Storage |
---|
• It is simple enough to make the correct amount of pasta for this dish. I don't recommend reheating it. |
