Any chicken part will do for this recipe – breast, wings, legs. The rest of the ingredients, or some variation, should be in your pantry. Serve this at an outdoor bbq, Super Bowl party, or weeknight meal. Marinate the chicken if you have time.

Special equipment needed |
---|
A baking sheet or broiler pan, preferable nonstick |
Ingredients |
---|
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce |
1 teaspoon ground ginger or 1-inch piece fresh ginger, minced |
1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 garlic clove, minced |
2 tablespoons maple syrup |
1 tablespoon lime juice |
3 pounds chicken wings |
Instructions |
---|
• Combine the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, maple syrup, and lime juice in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly. |
• Add to the chicken wings. If you have time, marinate the chicken 1 - 4 hours. |
• Spray the pan with a nonstick spray. |
• Remove the wings from the marinade. Put the wings on the pan, reserving the marinade. Broil for 7 minutes. Turn and broil for another 7 minutes, until done. |
• Cook the marinade in a small saucepan, adding a little water to prevent it from burning. Since the marinade was in contact with raw chicken, cook the sauce for 5 – 10 minutes. |
Variations |
---|
• Use lemon juice or vinegar for the lime juice. |
• Use honey, brown sugar, or agave nectar for maple syrup. |
• Use drumsticks, thighs, or breasts instead of wings. Adjust the cooking time accordingly. |
Storage |
---|
• Store any uneaten chicken covered in the refrigerator for 3 – 4 days. |
